This beautifully preserved historic courthouse serves as a central source of pride in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. It currently houses all county Court proceedings, the County Sherriff’s’ Office, and numerous other County administrative departments. Work was scheduled around the ongoing operations of all building functions, and directly adjacent busy downtown streets on three sides. Work was overseen by County facilities personnel, local architects from MSKTD & Associates, and the local historic preservation society. New windows from Graham Architectural Products mimicked original features and colors, and were carefully installed against the rare original ‘scagliola’ plaster and marble interior returns. First floor windows received impact resistant glass for building protection. Work was completed without injury or incident, on-time, and without change orders. County personnel described this project as, ‘the best they’ve ever experienced’!
