University of Missouri – Ellis Library
This historic building sits at the center of the University of Missouri’s campus. The Ellis Library received Phase 2 of an exterior restoration in 2022, in which Timekey Glazing replaced and restored existing windows. Large two-story openings protect stacks of books within the library, and were replaced after erection of temporary enclosures to protect the interior. New windows from EFCO Windows featured an assortment of perimeter trims and custom colors to match the originals. Existing steel windows were restored by taking interior and exterior finishes to bare metal, pinning sashes in-place, installing new putty and painted with high-performance coatings. All work was completed prior to the return of students in the summer of 2022. Construction was overseen by university facilities personnel, and International Architects Atelier.
