Wallace & Wilson Towers
All 1,360 windows were replaced during the 87-day summer break of 2017 at both of these 12-story Iowa State University dorm towers. Work was actually completed a week early to the astonishment of University personnel, ready for the return of students in early August. All units were installed from the interior with no exterior access available; the roof was unsuitable for swing staging, and underground tunnels and utilities made ground-based staging impossible. This interior receptor install trim/method was designed in conjunction with manufacturer EFCO. In years since completion, the only warranty claims were for a few busted screens; zero leaks or operational issues. As part of the project contracted directly with the University, Timekey also replaced all ground floor arched curtainwalls and secured entries – this was also performed within the same 87-day timeline. This project highlights key elements of Timekey’s value to the marketplace; efficient retrofit quality at scale with all in-house personnel despite the jobsite being 240 miles from company HQ.
